Fields of Promise Official Rules
1. Program Overview
Fields of Promise is a recognition program presented by Pivot Bio (“Pivot Bio” or “Sponsor”) celebrating young people who are making a meaningful difference through leadership, service, innovation or stewardship, including work that strengthens communities, agriculture or the environment.
Fields of Promise Fellows are selected based on the criteria described in these Official Rules. No purchase or payment is necessary to nominate an individual, be nominated or be selected as a Fields of Promise Fellow. A purchase will not increase an individual’s likelihood of selection.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration as a Fields of Promise Fellow, a nominee must:
- Be at least 13 years old and under 21 years old at the time of nomination.
- Currently live in the United States at the time of nomination. Citizenship or immigration status is not an eligibility requirement and will not be requested or verified.
- Have undertaken work, service, a project or other activity that benefits people or communities in the United States.
- Use their talents to uplift people or communities through leadership, service, innovation or stewardship, or undertake work that helps strengthen agriculture, the environment or rural communities.
- Have conducted the activity or demonstrated the impact described in the nomination within the 12 months preceding the nomination date.
If a nominee is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide any consent or authorization required by Pivot Bio before the nominee may be formally recognized as a Fields of Promise Fellow or receive an award.
Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection as a Fields of Promise Fellow.
3. How to Submit a Nomination
Eligible nominees who are 18 or older may nominate themselves. A nominee under 18 must be nominated by an adult. All nominees are evaluated under the same eligibility requirements and selection criteria, regardless of who submits the nomination.
Nominations must be submitted through the official Fields of Promise nomination form available on Pivot Bio’s website at https://www.pivotbio.com/15-under-20-fields-of-promise.
The nomination form may request information including:
- Nominee’s name and age
- Nominee’s school, if applicable
- Nominee’s city and state
- A brief description of the nominee’s work, accomplishments and impact
- Optional links to published media coverage, websites, social media or other publicly available information that may help demonstrate or verify the nominee’s work
- Nominator’s name, city and state
- Nominator’s email address and telephone number
Media coverage is not required for consideration. Nominees will not be advantaged or disadvantaged based on whether their work has received media attention.
Nominators should only submit information they believe to be accurate and must have the right or permission to submit any materials or other content included with the nomination.
By submitting a nomination, the nominator confirms that:
- The nominator is at least 18 years old.
- The nominee and, if applicable, the nominee’s parent or legal guardian know about and agree to the nomination.
- The submitted information is accurate to the nominator’s knowledge.
- The nominator has read these Official Rules, including the Fields of Promise Privacy Notice.
Submitting a nomination does not guarantee that the nominee will be contacted, selected or recognized.
4. Selection Criteria
Fields of Promise recognizes young people who believe the future is something we build together.
In reviewing eligible nominations, Pivot Bio will consider the nominee’s overall work and impact, including the extent to which the nominee:
- Sees possibilities where others see challenges.
- Uses their talents to uplift people and communities through leadership, service, innovation or stewardship.
- Helps strengthen agriculture, the environment or rural communities.
- Has created meaningful impact, regardless of the size or scale of that impact.
- Inspires others through action.
- Demonstrates through their work the potential for agriculture to contribute to a better future for people, communities or the planet.
These criteria are intended to guide Pivot Bio’s qualitative review of eligible nominations and are not individual eligibility requirements that a nominee must independently satisfy in every category. Pivot Bio will consider each nomination as a whole, recognizing that Fellows may demonstrate impact in different ways.
Pivot Bio may also consider the credibility and verifiability of the information provided, the connection between the nominee’s activities and the purpose of Fields of Promise, and other factors relevant to the program’s goals.
Selections are based on qualitative review and judgment and are not determined by chance. Pivot Bio retains sole discretion over the selection of Fields of Promise Fellows, subject to applicable law.
5. Verification and Disqualification
Pivot Bio reserves the right to verify information included in a nomination and may request additional information from a nominee, nominator, parent or legal guardian, school, nonprofit organization or other relevant source before recognizing an individual as a Fields of Promise Fellow.
Pivot Bio may disqualify a nomination or revoke an individual’s selection if Pivot Bio determines, in its reasonable discretion, that:
- The nominee does not meet the eligibility requirements.
- Information provided in connection with the nomination is materially false, misleading or unverifiable.
- Submitted materials infringe the rights of another person or organization.
- The nominee or nominator has engaged in conduct related to the nomination or recognized work that is inconsistent with the purpose or integrity of the program.
- Recognition would violate applicable law or otherwise compromise the integrity of Fields of Promise.
6. Fields of Promise Fellows
Pivot Bio anticipates recognizing up to 15 Fields of Promise Fellows for the 2026 – 2027 program year. Nominations open at 12:00 a.m. (CDT) on September 7, 2026 and close at 12:00 a.m. (CDT) on July 1, 2027. Pivot Bio may extend the nomination period by posting an updated deadline on the Program website.
Selected Fellows may be featured through Pivot Bio’s communications channels and storytelling initiatives to elevate the Fellows’ work, expand the reach of a Fellows’ ideas and inspire others to make a difference through agriculture and in their communities.
Subject to appropriate consent, information made public about a Fellow may include:
- Name
- Age
- City, state or community
- School, if applicable
- Photograph or likeness
- Description of the Fellow’s work, project and impact
- Quotes, interviews, photographs, video or other materials created in connection with Fields of Promise
For Fellows who are minors, Pivot Bio will obtain appropriate permission from a parent or legal guardian before publishing personally identifiable information, photographs or other materials requiring such consent.
7. Recognition and Charitable Donation
Fields of Promise Fellows receive recognition only. No Fellow will receive cash, merchandise, a grant or another prize from Pivot Bio.
Each Fellow may designate one organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501(c)(3) public charity. Pivot Bio will donate $[1,500] directly to the designated organization after verifying its eligibility.
If the designated organization is ineligible, fails Pivot Bio’s compliance review or does not provide the required information, the Fellow may designate another eligible organization within 15 days. If the Fellow does not timely designate an eligible replacement, Pivot Bio may select one consistent with the Fellow’s recognized work.
The donation may not be earmarked for the Fellow’s or an immediate family members’ compensation, tuition, expenses, or other personal benefit. The Fellow has no right to receive, assign, or substitute the donation.
Charitable donations are made solely in connection with Fields of Promise recognition and are not conditioned on, connected to or determined by the purchase or use of Pivot Bio products or services.
A recommended organization must provide any information Pivot Bio reasonably requests to verify its eligibility and process the donation. If the organization does not qualify or provide the requested information, Pivot Bio may select another eligible organization.
8. Notification and Acceptance
Potential Fellows will be contacted using the information provided through the nomination process or through other contact information reasonably available to Pivot Bio.
Before recognition is finalized, Pivot Bio may require the nominee and, when applicable, the nominee’s parent or legal guardian to:
- Confirm eligibility, including age as of the eligibility date.
- Verify information contained in the nomination.
- Accept the award and program requirements.
- Complete appropriate consent, release, tax or other documentation.
- Sign the applicable release authorizing Pivot Bio to use the nominee’s name, likeness, biography, photographs, recordings and related materials as described in that release.
If a potential Fellow cannot be contacted, does not provide required information or consent within the timeframe specified by Pivot Bio, or is subsequently determined to be ineligible, Pivot Bio may withdraw the selection.
9. Submitted Materials and Publicity
By submitting a nomination, the nominator represents that they have the right to provide the information and materials included in the submission.
Submission of a nomination does not, by itself, grant Pivot Bio unrestricted rights to publicly use a nominee’s name, image or likeness. Pivot Bio will obtain any additional permissions or releases required under these Official Rules before publicly using a Fellow’s name, image, likeness, voice or other identifying material.
Selected Fellows and, where applicable, their parents or legal guardians may be asked to participate in photography, video, interviews or other storytelling related to Fields of Promise.
10. Privacy Notice
